Mr. Roan joined Freeman Planning & Design in June of 2012. Mr. Roan is responsible for site planning, permitting, construction administration, zoning, entitlements, site selection, and architecture.

Prior to joining Freeman Planning & Design Mr. Roan served as Urban Design Administrator for the Town of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. In this capacity, Mr. Roan provided professional design services including site planning, land planning, landscape architecture, and identifying redevelopment opportunities for the resort municipality’s public projects — including institutional buildings and facilities, public parks, and infrastructure.  Mr. Roan also provided architectural oversight and design review for private development permitting, and worked with private developers in meeting the goals of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and Development Ordinance.

Mr. Roan also served as Project Planner for Wood+Partners, Inc. – Land Planners/ Landscape Architects from 2000-2004. Mr. Roan Provided site planning, development and construction drawings, and landscape architectural services for public and private developments, ranging from 5,000 acre planned-unit- developments, resort hotels, single-family and multi-family developments, commercial developments, and public parks.

Mr. Roan graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana with a B.S. from the College of Arts and Sciences in 1995. Mr. Roan earned his Masters of Landscape Architecture from the College of Architecture and Planning from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 2001. Mr. Roan is a registered Landscape Architect.
